Defensive Handgun Level 2 moves beyond basic marksmanship and gun-handling to help you begin to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to use a handgun in a deadly-force self-defense situation.
Our goal is to increase accuracy, speed and manipulation skills. In this fast paced and technique oriented class, students will improve on the fundamentals of self-defense and concealed carry of a firearm. Students must have taken an introduction or marksmanship skills class, or need instructor approval to enroll.
Learning objectives include drawing from the holster, situational reloading, clearing malfunctions, engaging multiple targets, use of defensive shooting techniques, movement and shooting and dynamic stress situations.
Students will need a handgun that is 9mm/38 Special or larger. Students will also need three magazines or speed loaders (five would be ideal), a rigid belt holster and magazine holder and a minimum of 300 rounds jacketed, brass cased ammunition.
Hearing and eye protection.
Clothing suitable for the climate and conditions.
